The Product Detail Information module provides retailers with a common location for controlling and updating inventory information (including additions, deletions, and changes to inventory and inventory information). Detailed information is configured to displayed in tabular fields, or categories, such as features, specifications, and customer reviews.
Graphical information can be uploaded to the Product Detail Information module. Both static images and streaming video may accompany existing product detail information. Multiple images may be displayed for each item, and may display as either the main product image or a thumbnail (for instance, different product views). Additionally, item price and other pricing finance details may be displayed for each item.
In general, the Product Detail Information module links several Web Catalog modules and greatly reduces the efforts associated with Website maintenance, organization, and re-design and can be used to provide on-line buyers with the same amount of product detail available at the original inventory vendor site.
Pricing
A “buy now” feature is currently available from within the Pricing module. This module uses zip code information to direct users to the closest geographically-based retail location with the item in inventory— linking the Inventory Management System with the Web Catalog.
Recommended Items
Associated with the Product Information module is the Recommended Items module. This module lists items that compliment and/or augment the specific item selected by the on-line buyer. The items displayed in this module are tagged from within the software tool. Similar in nature to the functionality of the Recommended Items module is the Items People Have Purchased module. This module lists items sold to individuals who previously purchased the same item, ultimately offering suggestions for an additional purchase.
