The Product Listing module interfaces closely with the Selecting Items module. Individuals designing the Website control how products are displayed (again, typically in list format) based on search criteria such as price and brand/manufacturer. Once a product listing has been generated, the on-line buyer can chose one of the following actions: compare products, sort items, or drill-down for more detailed product information.
Comparing Items
As on-line buyers select similar items to compare from within the Product Listing module, the Comparing Items module controls how item information is displayed on the screen. The display options for Web based item comparisons include both linear or table format. Specific item comparison information may be added for each Web catalog item based on a user-configurable set of main and sub categories.
